Our Volunteer Firefighters serve the community by responding to a wide variety of situations, training for and performing duties in the following general categories: fire suppression, emergency medical aid or rescue, hazardous material responses, training, and public education.
We offer two types of memberships for the volunteer who is 18 years old or older: Active Firefighter and Live-In Firefighter.
Active firefighters respond from home to the station or standby in the station as part of a duty crew; while live-in firefighters live, sleep, eat and respond in the firehouse in return for free “room and board.” Check out our comprehensive list of benefits for each membership type below.
The Junior Firefighter program is our youth organization for young adults age 14-17 that offers an excellent opportunity to learn teamwork skills and mature into responsible and contributing community-focused adults.
The program is designed to instill a sense of character, confidence, and self-esteem in each junior member. The program teaches fire/rescue skills, self-discipline, and respect. Cadets participate in formal training supplemented by field trips and developmental assignments related to fire prevention, control, and emergency medical services.
