The Emergency Management Agency (EMA) operates whenever the township needs our services during emergency disasters directly affecting Swatara Township. We are staffed by many dedicated public safety professionals who are here to give their time, talent, and dedication to the residents and visitors of our community.
Some of these disasters include but are not limited to:
- Nuclear incidents/drills
- Snowstorms
- Floods
- Ice storms
- Wind storms
- Large fires
- Major traffic accidents
- Large gas leaks/spills
We are always looking for more volunteers willing to spend some time and dedication to make our teamwork successful during disasters that impact our township.
Training is done at our agency and in the local area at the Dauphin County Department of Public Safety, PEMA, and FEMA offices. However, hands-on is our primary learning objective.
