Swatara Township Fire & Rescue is proud to offer Live-In opportunities for volunteer firefighters at our Swatara, and Rutherford stations. Whether you’re looking to gain invaluable hands-on experience, serve your community, or build lifelong relationships, our Live-In program is the perfect way to immerse yourself in the world of emergency response.

What You Get as a Live-In Firefighter

Being a part of our Live-In Program means more than just living at one of our stations—it’s about building a career, developing your skills, and making an impact. Here’s what you’ll enjoy when you join our team:

  • New Renovations: Our Swatara Station was recently updated with 8 private dorms and a fully renovated commercial kitchen, while Rutherford Station has brand-new lounge and kitchen areas.

Stations and Facilities

Swatara Station
