Our Firefighters serve the community by responding to a wide variety of situations, training for and performing duties in the following general categories: fire suppression, emergency medical aid or rescue, hazardous material responses, and public education.

We offer three types of memberships for the volunteer:

Our News

Bedroom FIre

This evening Tower 91 was dispatched to Highspire for a house fire. Tower 91’s Canman located a fire in the bedroom and started extinguishing it until the line from Engine 55 made the room.  

Vehicle Fire

This afternoon Engine 91-2 assisted Company 50 with a vehicle fire on Front St.  

March 2021 Stats

For the month of March 2021, Swatara Fire-Rescue was alerted to 92 incidents. 3 of those incidents were building fires and 1 required extrication from a vehicle accident. 40 personnel completed 461 hours of training as well for the month.

Car Fire

This morning Engine 91 and Rescue 91-5 handled a vehicle fire on Interstate 83.
